U know what I mean. We think we are our hair, ironically, when it is permed and straight. Not the hair we were born w/. I was looking the trees the other day and I realized the beautiful trees I was admiring as God’s creation looked like our hair. I thought about this. Straight hair is often referred to as a waterfall, Beautiful u know. Our hair is like the clouds and the trees. I am not upset that God honored us w/ making our hair like this as well. Like HIS Creation.
I cried bc idk lol. I just felt spiritually moved. I felt like this is why we go natural. This change and empowerment is what it is all about. It comes across to me as a claiming of self. And as I reflect on the long straight hair I used to have, like u, which is part of why I identified, I think back on a little girl in my case. How funny hair can be. Just a style and how it makes u see urself is powerful. Your eyes in this video really capture the journey of claiming ur beautiful self.
